Danny, this is so very good. Following Jesus is not being a moderate or being a centrist. Sometimes you will get hit from the right or from the left or from the center. It is grace and truth; speaking the truth in love. Amen and amen.
Thank you for this. It’s so easy to let human feelings and desire to be “right” convince us that we need to stand firm in a place where the footing is not particularly stable nor the position we choose specifically defined.
I am coming to believe that the tent of faith may be larger than many may define it. That doesn’t remotely refute our desperate need for Christ. Only Jesus can grant us admission to eternal life. Secondary issues easily become primary when people, rather than God, define them.
The Spirit’s guidance is our only hope; and His Word is the place we need to reside and learn. We are reminded of the need to continually learn in Proverbs 1:5 “Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance.”

Exactly, it’s convictions that don’t map neatly onto the categories of the world.
So true. It’s a Spirit- enabled balance.
Great point!
Another gem. We are given one gospel.
One gospel!

Trust in Jesus, depend on the Spirit. Sounds like a solid action plan!
